Cazoo

Product design for Cazoo during its founding phase, translating an early print-led brand into a digital experience for buying used cars entirely online.

Cazoo set out to challenge a fragmented, low-trust market by making buying a used car feel as simple and transparent as any other online purchase. I helped turn that proposition into an end-to-end customer journey.

My work covered vehicle discovery, search and filtering, PLPs and PDPs, alongside finance, part exchange and checkout. The challenge was to make a complex, high-value purchase feel clear, convenient and trustworthy.

As part of the checkout experience, customers could part-exchange their existing car through a simple six-step process, making it easy to get a valuation and apply it towards their new car without leaving the journey.

During the design process, we worked with illustrator Emil Paun to develop a warm, distinctive illustration style that made the experience feel more friendly and welcoming. Although it wasn’t used in the final product, it played an important role in shaping the initial design direction.
